A Colorful Journey Through Folsom: Unveiling the Folsom City Banner Project

I'm excited to share the story behind the completion of the Folsom City Banner project – a project close to my heart that offered me the unique opportunity to write 12 love letters to the city that I call home.

Capturing Folsom's Essence:

The idea was simple yet powerful – 12 banners highlighting the unique features of our community. From Sutter Street's historic charm to the tranquil beauty of Folsom Lake, each banner aimed to capture an aspect of what makes Folsom special.

A Phased Approach:

The project unfolded in phases, allowing me to pay attention to the details and ensure each banner authentically represented Folsom. It was important to me that the art reflected the essence of our city and I appreciated a little space to think about each design and not have to work on all 12 designs in parallel.

Rotating Banners for Changing Seasons:

Adding dynamism, the banners rotate seasonally. As Folsom transitions through the seasons, so do these banners, creating a visual narrative that evolves with our city's vibrant energy. They're not just static pieces; they're a living reflection of Folsom's character.

On Display at the City Entrances:

Rather than being confined to a gallery, these banners find their place on the light posts at the entrances to our city. A drive or stroll through Folsom becomes an art appreciation tour!
